What makes an outstanding Tree Service Company and How to Pick the Right one In Wilmington

Beautiful-Tree_opt beforeaftertreetrim

Hey everyone expo50 here and today I want to talk about what makes a tree service company great?

Because we are in the Prom season, many parents and kids are calling up limos and its also fall so ordering tree service as well to get rid of dead trees before winter but beware not all tree service companies were created equal even if the website shows same vehicle as other companies.

When you are looking for best Tree trimming in Wilmington there’s few things to watch out for so you know you are picking the right one.

  1. They have to be licensed and insured: this gets many people dumbfounded but the truth is many tree service companies out there are operating without a license or being insured. It costs thousands of dollars per month to have some of these vehicles insured and many owners out there do try to get by without proper licensing. That’s just the reality of the tree service industry and you have to take your pick carefully to find the reputable company in your area. There’s always at least few that are truly exceptional in every area.

  1. They have to have fairly new vehicles: You may be browsing online for tree service in Wilmington and you come across many sites with the incredible boom trucks and tree stump grinders and you assume they are a great company..

  1. Pick a company that is respectful: It is true that you will call some tree care companies and you like the person on the other end and they seem honest and reputable, while you call some other company and it feels like you are talking to someone that doesn’t care. Well chances are that the first company well give much better service for your event. You have to remember that its not just the vehicle you are renting but everything that goes into getting that tree removal & climbers prepared for your special day. This means that the company has to be owned by a great owner that manages everything like its their child. Chances are if they come off as people that’s not that interested in serving you, even if you get a better price you will get far inferior service. But these things are not black and white, this is where you should use your gut instinct when talking to these companies.

I highly recommend:

For all the tree care owners out there in Wilmington, this should serve as a warning if you are lacking in any of these areas to pick your game up and nail these core principles down because this is how the top dogs are being successful in this industry. If you hired someone to take the phone calls, give them a break for a day, and you try handling the calls, you might be surprised how much more leads you will begin closing right away. As an owner (you should) fight for every lead and follow up to acquire those leads.

If you are consumer looking to invest in a great tree removal, let this article serve as a reminder to do your due diligence when picking your company. In my last article, I wrote about a particularly tree service company before.

Tree Care Considerations, How to make great looking trees

In the last blog I talked about, different equipment that a true tree care company might use, and I went over all these tools in specific detail. Next I want to go over the actual skills of tree care company and how they go about taking care of their trees and customers wishes in skillful manner.

Your Options

There are truly a wide variety of options, when it comes to real quality tree removal, so that you can guarantee that your tree will be removed with ease. Also, it’s important to remember that when using any type of tree removal service, that you need to remember that it’s not about the pace in which you remove the tree itself, but instead it’s about making sure that you get it done, in a manner, where you can guarantee that you’ll not only get the best, but where it is thorough and on point as well. You want to make sure that you work with a real arborist, who understands tree removal services, and who knows everything when it comes tree trimming and tree cutting as part of removing a tree, and making your landscape area look nice as a whole.

Cutting, Care, Pruning, and more

Additionally, it’s important to note that when it comes to tree removal, and making sure that you stay on point with tree care, that you need to remember that by having a real quality tree doctor, you can get the best in making sure that your tree not only gets removed, but that it’s also gone for good in proper fashion. Of course another key factor, when it comes to tree removal, is the importance of understanding tree pruning. Without the right kind of tree pruning, you can guarantee that the removal process of your tree will not only be inefficient, but it will also be somewhat undone as well. It’s also important to note that part of tree removal is tree cutting, and without the right kind of tree cutting services, you can guarantee that you’re going to be in for a real mess, when it comes to getting what you want, when you want it, so that your tree can and will be gone, and taken care of. Tree cutting is essential when it comes to removing a tree, and thus be sure to stay on point, and on top of your game, so that you can and will get the best in making sure that your tree is truly removed in an orderly and timely fashion in general.

You should also make sure that the kind of tree cutter, that you hire for the removal of the tree itself, understands that it’s not always about speed but instead it’s about accuracy kinda like how crazy accurate that archer is in above video, and making sure that you get the best when it comes to your tree, and making sure that it’s removed in a timely fashion, that is sustainable, predictable, fashionable, and on point and consistent. Without all of these things, your removal process will all be for nothing, and the tree itself will not look good, or right at all.

Do it yourself Tree Trimming? Is it worth it?

If you are a do it yourselfer there are many tools to aid you in tree trimming. Which surprisingly are not that hard to use or learn how to use. Here is a few tools that will take care of most if not all your tree trimming needs. Each item can be bought or rented from your local hardware or home improvement store. Save a couple of dollars and learn to do something new by trimming your tree yourself.

Pole Tree Pruner: This is long pole usually fourteen feet long. At the end is a serrated blade about a foot long. And attached to it is a cord. This is tool is used for small to medium sized trees. It allows the person to trim the tree without using a ladder. So you would stand on the ground with the pole reach up to the tree with the blade. When you come to a part you would like cut just pulled the cord and cut the limb. It’s simple and easy to use. A good investment for anyone.

Chain saw: When we think of chain saw we often envisioned a monstrous gas powered one. But there are other type of saws. For the basic do it yourselfer an electric or battery power chain saw will work great. Both are easy to use, handle, and start. Just plug and go. But remember an electric chain saw will have a cord. If the space you are working is that big or you have an extra-long extending cord then this type of chain saw will work great for you. But if you need to move around a lot. Or the space is so big that no cord would reach. Or maybe you just don’t want to be encumbered by a cord then choose the battery operated one. Either one will be great addition to anyone’s tool shed.f

Wood chipper: After you finish trimming what are you going to with all those limbs? You could bundle them up and placed by the curb for your city to remove them (check with your local government to see if and when this service is available). Or you could invest in a wood chipper. What’s a wood chipper? Well it fed limbs, braches, basically wood and it cuts the wood into small pieces or chips. Then you can used this as mulch around your flower beds and yard. If you can’t afford to buy one of these then look into renting one from your local home improvement store. What a great way to reuse those limbs and branches. And save you money.

These tools can start to add up but remember they are an investment. Don’t forget to check out garage and yard sales. You may score a great deal on any one of these items. Also check online on different sites that sell items.

Sometimes Professional Tree Service is the best route…

When using any of these tools read the owner manual and wear all safety gear. This includes, safety glasses, work gloves, and whatever else you feel you need to feel safe. If for any reason you start to feel unsure or doubt yourself. Do not hesitate to call a tree service company. They will have the knowledge and expertise to help with your trees.

A home is worth waiting for…

Noah and Eve have been married for two years. During those two years they have been living with Eve’s parents. The decided to move in with her parents in an effort to save money to buy a house. Neither one wanted to take out a loan but rather pay cash for the house. The economy being as it is this is actually possible. To pay cash for a beautiful home. So that’s exactly what they did. For two years they both worked had together. Saving every penny they could until finally they had enough to shop around.

Together they seen what must have been a hundred houses. But always finding fault in them. Too small, too big, too much work to be done, mold, cracking foundations, just a slew of different excuses. But in reality neither one felt that they had found their home. Although they were anxious to get out of Eve’s parents they understood that this is a process that may take time. Patiently they kept looking hoping and knowing in their hearts that their home was somewhere out there.

Finally one raining Thursday morning Eve was on her way to work and out of nowhere she got a flat tire. She pulled over and called for her husband to come and take care of it. As she waited for his arrival she noticed the house across the street. It was beautiful. A two story Tudor. Painted a soft pewter gray with creamy white trim and candy apple red door. Off to the side in the back she saw a gazebo matching to color of the house. Large spacious yard that ran adjacent to some woods. A two car garage and a detach shed. This was beautiful and exactly what they had been wishing for.

Noah pulled up behind his wife and noticed her staring across the street. He ask her what happen. Immediately she told him to look across the street. He did. He like his wife immediately fell in love with that house. And he said to her, “baby that’s our house, isn’t it?” Unable to speak she simply nodded.

As luck would have the owners came outside and staked down a sign. For sale by owner it read. Astonished at their luck the rushed across the street. Ask to see the inside of the home. Pleasantly surprise the inside of the home exceeded the outside. They immediately offered to pay full price, cash. The owners overjoyed at getting home sold so quick accepted their offer with haste.

Eve and Noah did not return to the house until it was time to move in. It was during this move they saw a tree. This tree was the only tree that did not have any leaves on it. Noah knowing a little bit about the healthiness of plants and trees realized if that tree isn’t cut down then the probability of it landing on their new home was almost definite.

Because of its proximity to their home and power lines. Noah and Eve decided to enlist the services of tree trimming and Removal Company ran by Eve’s cousin Kayden. Kayden came and quickly removed the tree for his cousin and her husband for a small fee.

Now Noah and Eve are all moved in and enjoying their new home. They await the delivery and arrival of their twin baby boys. So happy they were patient and waited until they found a house that felt like home.

Learning About Tree Service Equipment

When you’re tree maintenance worker Drew, work doesn’t end when you get home. Its not as simple as that. Home is where the real labor just begins. He has to care for his mother, who was recently diagnosed as emotionally unstable, and an 14 month old baby that seems to never stop crying. This baby was one of his biggest inspirations for going straight. He knew he had to hike up his pants and get to working a better job. Lately, he’s been adding even more knowledge under his tool belt.
Another day, another thing learned More from Drew
Today Bob learned me how to use a skid-steer with a brush-cutter attachment. We had to cut down some cedars, and we were a few men short. Bob taught me how to use a skid-steer, and as always, I was nervous. It was a big deal job, and if I screwed up, I would be screwed. To add insult to injury, the sun was beating down so hard all day that day. It had to be at least 110 degrees outside. The intense heat only added to my stress, but Bob slowly walked me through everything, and I had this down like everything else. As always, I had a great time working with Bob, and using the equipment. I really believe that I could get somewhere with this, like make it into a career or something.
How to use the equipment
It was very easy for me to learn how to use a skid-steer, so I will now show what I know. I love the skid-steer, it is such a versatile machine. It can be used to load stuff, move dirt or rocks, and snow removal. It took me a little bit of practice, but before i knew it, I was running it like a bike. Like a lot of equipment though, it can be dangerous.
Skid steers can flip over very easily and make very sharp turns. Bob took me out to an open field to practice before we started the job. First, you climb inside and put your seat belt on, and insert the key into the ignition, like a car. You then operate the throttle, or Johnson lever. Rabbit means fast and turtle means slow. Then, you use the controls to raise the arms with whatever attachment is on it. This way you can see what is in front of you. You can then push the throttle forward or backward depending on how fast or slow you want to go. And it is as simple as that. Some warnings though are to always wear hearing protection, never lift a heavy load high above your head because it could easily tip over, and don’t try to drive them up steep hills and inclines.
Working the Wood chipper
The wood chipper is one of the most important machines in tree removal. It is great for cleaning up debris. Always be extremely careful when using one of these machines. When using a wood chipper it is better to wear tighter clothing because baggy clothing can easily get caught in the deadly blades. Wear eye and ear protection, because these things can be very loud. It is also a good idea to wear a hard hat, you never know what may fly out of there, and keep your hands and feet a safe distance from the feed chute area, it only takes a second for it to pull you in. Next, use a log to push other logs into the chipper, it makes it a bit safer by not using your hands. You must also keep the machine clean so it doesn’t jam or fail to function. And that’s pretty much it. Bob also told me you can use a chipper to make mulch.
The Grapple Truck
A grapple truck is basically a truck with a grapple loader mounted on to it. A grapple loader is a claw-like attachment with a mechanical arm that rotates on an axis. We use these to help load and unload bulks of wood, debris, logs, etc. It can very easily be used to lift all sorts of things. It is a very handy machine in the tree removal business.
The Cherry Picker
I will now go on to explain the cherry picker, also known as a man lift, or boom lift. We use it for many things, including lifting a man high enough to reach troublesome limbs and trimming. Cherry pickers are also used to repair power lines and phone lines, pick fruit, and anything else that requires a man to get up high.
Love this line of work I tell you.
Stump Grinder
Last but not least we have the infamous stump grinders that will tear through stump like butter and make incredible mulch. I learned a lot about this equipment from the Oakland County stump man in  back in 2013. His business was I think called Keith’s Stump Grinding Service.

Welcome & Review of Tree Trimming Services

Welcome to Expo50, we review local businesses like tree service, roofers, deck builders, garage repair & more so that our readers can make a more informed decision whenever they need this type of work done for their home.

First Review: Tree Service

Sometimes you see some wacky things in front of people’s houses involving the remains of trees. It’s like some homeowners will do anything to avoid paying for tree removal or tree stump removal.

Over by my house there is one tree, it’s really just a tree stump, that the owners painted white and put some little accessories on to make it look like a lighthouse. I’ve seen other people dodge the tree stump removal fee by having their stump cut into some artistic shape and make it look like a bear or an eagle or whatever.

Trimming Tree is Art

It really doesn’t make sense to me, because if you’re taking the time and spending the money to have an arborist come out and do a little tree trimming to get the thing trimmed down to the stump why not just have the whole tree stump removed? Or if you are going to pay some sort of chainsaw artist to come do a little tree care and trim your tree up into a piece of art, why wouldn’t you have the interest in tree care in the first place and keep the danged tree healthy?

Every once in awhile I see some wacky do it yourself jobs in tree removal and stump removal. People chain their pickup truck up to the stump and do their own stump removal which may or may not result in the bumper being ripped off of their car. I know it’s not the cheapest thing in the world to have a team of arborists come over and do their tree trimming thing or bring along a woodchipper for hire but there’s a point where you’re investing more time and money just to do it yourself. People need to take a step back and learn when it’s time to let the professional tree trimmer do their job, like a true pro like Steven Seagal

Sometimes I also wonder why exactly people get tree removal done at their house. They have a huge, healthy tree in the yard and maybe their getting the tree trimming done because they don’t want leaves in their gutters? Or maybe they don’t feel like raking? Or maybe they had the tree service come by and rip it out because they didn’t want bird poop on their car? It sounds a little silly to me because a tree keeps a house shaded in the summer time and can dramatically reduce the summer heat and AC costs.

Me, I bet the only time I’m going to call for tree trimming or tree removal from a professional tree service would be if the thing is rotting away and it’s about to crush the roof of my house. Otherwise, I’m going to just do my own tree care and try to keep the thing healthy and happy and have it shade my house. No arborist is coming by my house unless I absolutely need something done. We’re talking storm damage to trees or maybe rotting tree removal. None of this trimming so I can see the street crap. I don’t want to see traffic or people in front of my house, I want a healthy and manicured tree that has been taken care of with my own personal tree service.

Stay tuned and we will be reviewing more industries on this blog.
